November Happenings: Mysterious Galaxy, NaNoWriMo, and More

This autumn has been an eventful season, full of big projects and literary events, and there's no slowing down in sight. Here's a quick and dirty recap of what's going on.
http://www.mystgalaxy.com/Event/Local-Author-Meet-Greet-RB-110913Mysterious Galaxy Local Author Meet and Greet, Saturday, November 9, from 2:30-5:30 PM. I'm stoked to be one of the featured authors for this event. Swing by if you're local for a very cool, informal event. I'd love to meet with you and chat. I'll also have some books for sale, but don't worry I'm an author, not a used car salesman. See the Mysterious Galaxy website for more details.

NaNoWriMo
NaNoWriMo — I'm participating in National Novel Writing Month for the first time ever. I'm using the opportunity to take a break from my cli-fi work-in-progress and crank out the first draft of a new epic fantasy novel. If you're an author (aspiring, professional, or anywhere in between) who is participating, buddy me up. You can find my NaNoWriMo profile here. As part of the occasion, I also wrote some fantasy writing tips as part of a guest blog post for Diversion Books. Scroll down to the bottom of the post for my writing advice.

The Roads to Baldairn Motte Returns! — Collaborators Craig Comer and Ahimsa Kerp and myself have been hard at work putting together a new edition of The Roads to Baldairn Motte to be released by Reputation Books. Fans of the original edition will be rewarded with new stories and interstitials, as well as a restructuring of the mosaic pieces to create a more cohesive and climactic reading experience. New readers will discover a highly polished mosaic novel that offers up a gritty, nuanced counterpoint to generic heroic fantasy. Stay tuned for a preview of the new cover art soon.
The Sh*tty Non-fiction Anthology — I'm also in the process of putting together a shortened version of the humorous non-fiction anthology previously called This Book is Sh*t! The new book, titled Code Brown, is in the final stages of production and the e-book and trade paperback version should be available soon. Cover artwork coming soon for this one too.
New Wheel House EP — As if all that wasn't enough, my band is in the process of recording a new album. We're recording, engineering, and producing this one all on our own, so things aren't likely to move fast. The first track is done, but don't expect anything finalized until after the new year. In the meantime, you can find our first album, People That We Used to Be on Amazon, iTunes and wherever else music downloads are sold.
Dreamwielder at Genre Ground — I'm honored to have my novel Dreamwielder chosen as the book of the week over at Genre Underground. If you haven't checked the site out, it's very cool, featuring articles, interviews, and advice for readers on sifting through the heaps of indy novels out there to find high quality spec-fiction.
So there you have it. I best get back to work. Cheers!
